Sunny Daze

Oh my darling, won’t you come lay down next to me?
We’ll get all comfy and cozy, I’ll sing you to sleep
Why the hell would either of us ever want to leave?
But if you’ve got to, oh, give me a minute or two
To get used to the fact that I’ll soon be without you
Saying goodbye, you know it ain’t easy to do
But later you’ll be back, everything will be fine
We’ll sit back and relax, pop open a bottle of wine
Why can’t things be just like this all the time?
Why, why, baby why?
Oh my darling, after all this time I still can’t believe
The way you captured my heart, the one I wear on my sleeve
And the capture was mutual miraculously
But now it’s later, you’re back, everything is sublime
Who would have thought serenity could be so easy to find?
I’m so used to heart break all the time
That’s why
I spend my days waiting for the rain
But the rain’s not coming, the rain’s not coming at all
And when I don’t know what to say
You know I won’t say nothing, I won’t say nothing at all
Woah oh oh oh
I’ll spend my days dreading all that rain
But the rain’s not coming, the rain’s not coming at all
And when I don’t know what to say
You know I won’t say nothing, I won’t say nothing
I spend my days waiting for the rain
But the rain’s not coming, the rain’s not coming at all
And when I don’t know what to say
You know I won’t say nothing, oh you know I won’t nothing, oh you know I won’t say nothing
At all

Solo Quiero
04:05
|

Solo quiero dejar de pensar en ti
Solo quiero vivir
Pero lo único cosa he que aprendí
Es que eso es demasiado pedir
Solo quiero completamente olvidar
Porque me haces querer morir
Pero, si eso puede alguna vez pasar
Es imposible decir

Just Whistlin'
04:01
|
|||
I could noodle all day long
I could go la-la-la til my la-la-lungs bleed
I could dabble with a metaphorical song
I pretend to play the saxophone as if I know what I’m doing
But oooh oh oh
There’s this thing that I just cannot do
And I’m so god damn frustrated
I can’t hack tackling the task that feels so simple
I’m pretty sure just about anyone else can
But no matter how many ways I try, I can’t whistle
Well, admittedly, I could try, and surely it’d make a sound
But the sound would be airy, off-pitch, and awfully shitty
It won’t be pretty
You’re gonna have a heap of trouble picking out the melody
It ain’t a soothing sound, it’s never going to bring a fully grown person to tears
But it’s the sound I’m gonna try right now, so I would cover your ears
And so I wrote this silly song
In hopes it gives me the necessary practice
And if I play it all day long (every day, every week, every year)
Then eventually, maybe, I won’t be so hopeless
So, a hundred bucks to anyone that teaches me right
But all attempts were failures, so don’t get your hopes high
I need practice, so here goes one more try

Are We Cool?
06:12
|
|||
Being great at something doesn’t make you cool
If it gives you the delusion that your peers are lesser to you
Having shit loads of money, it doesn’t make you cool
If it puts you on a high horse and if you dehumanize the destitute
La la la la
Being ridiculously good looking doesn’t make you cool
If you think it means the whole world is required to fall in love with you
Having forty thousand stories to tell, woah, it doesn’t make you cool
If your ear goes deaf when you’re out of breath and somebody else is trying to share with you
But if you’ve got compassion
And empathic tendency
If you give a shit about your fellow humankind
Well then you’re cool enough for me
For me
For me
For me
(Breakin’ it down, now!)
Your cushy seat in the oval office, it doesn’t make you cool
If the road that got you there was paved with trickery and letting hate shine through
This is just my opinion, it doesn’t make me cool
It’s just a constant reminder to myself, heed it if you choose
If you choose
La la la la
And if your mind is open, if you accept your faults
And you kept that childish wonder, but you know how to act like an adult
And if you’ve got compassion, and empathic tendency
Oh if you’ve got a great big heart, well then you’re cool enough
For me
For me
You’re cool enough for me
For me

Like a deer in the glow, like a foot on a mine
Like an old favorite toy, like I’ve run out of time
Like the loss of your faith, like the loss of a home
Like a sweater you suddenly feel you’ve outgrown
Just a man on the street, just a face in the crowd
Just a dog unexpectedly left at the pound
Just an overdue book that you kept for too long
Just a stereo turned down when it got too loud (way too loud)
Just a soul made of glass, just a man made of stone
Just the dust that collects on your home telephone
Just a bill in the mail, just a thorn in your side
Just an addict that suddenly lost his supply
Like a loss of control, like a lack of defense
Like my price tag says zero dollars, zero cents
Like a pest, like a jerk , like a child, like a dunce
Like a boxer, blindsided, out in one punch (one punch)
Like I lost all my love
Like a fool in the rain
Like I’m over the hills
Like I’m so far away
A collectible crutch, a disposable flame
A collectible crutch, my disposable name
